This is a full time employment contract setting out the terms and conditions upon which an employee will be employed by an employer on a full time basis. The contract covers routine matters such as the employee’s hours of work, duties, remuneration, holiday entitlements and so on.

This full time employment agreement details matters such as:

• the duration of the probationary period (which can be extended, reduced or removed as necessary);

• the employee’s job title and the scope of the employee’s duties; as well as the rules and regulations which the employee must comply with;

• the employee’s working hours and times for each week;

• whether the employee will be entitled to overtime pay for any extended hours worked;

• the place where the employee is required to work;

• the remuneration payable to the employee and the manner and frequency in which it’s paid; and whether the employee is entitled to (i) a company car or a travel allowance in lieu thereof, (ii) a company laptop or (iii) a company phone or (iv) a bonus;

• the employee’s entitlement to holidays;

• the procedures that apply in relation to sickness and notification of absence from work; including whether the employee is entitled to receive payment when absent;

• the employee’ retirement requirements and what pension products the employee is entitled to or will have access to;

• the private health cover offered to the employee (if any);

• the procedures relating to the change in benefits and the termination of benefits;

• the confidentiality provisions that are imposed on the employee throughout the duration of his or her employment;

• the requirement that the employee devote his or her full attention to the performance of his or her duties, act in the best interests of the employer at all times, refrain from having any involvement with any other business that competes with that of the employer or which may conflict with the interests of the employer;

• the disciplinary and grievance procedures;

• the manner in which the agreement can be terminated;

• the restrictive covenants that apply post termination of the employment;

• who owns intellectual property rights developed by the employee;

• the employer’s right to search the employee; and

• other relevant matters.

The full time employment contract also includes standard boiler plate clauses such as in relation to confidentiality, notice requirements, governing laws, etc.
