He has vast experience in the areas of business start-ups, corporate finance, banking, investment, fund raisings, mergers and acquisitions, syndicated investment structures, tax structuring, and general corporate and commercial transactions.


Kim Simmonds, Commercial & IP Solicitor

Having trained and worked at Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York City and more recently in London, Kim undertakes a full range of corporate and commercial work with a specific emphasis on intellectual property, technology, e-commerce and gaming matters. Kim acts for clients ranging from start-ups to larger private and public companies in sectors ranging from financial services and technology to transport and retail.

David Lane, Solicitor & Law Society Lecturer

David is the managing partner of Lane & Associates (Dublin). He originally trained and qualified with Kilroy’s Solicitors in Dublin before subsequently moving to Lavelle Coleman (Dublin), one of Ireland’s largest commercial law firms. He joined Investec Group in 2009 as an external counsel and continues to advise their offshoot, Start Mortgages, via his legal practice. David has specific expertise in both commercial and residential property as well as in the areas of banking, security, landlord & tenant, estate and succession planning, probate, tax and litigation. He is a regular lecturer in the Law Society of Ireland, with specific focus on probate and property related matters.

Dr Chris McDermott, Lawyer and Academic

Dr. Mc Dermott is an attorney-at-law and a lecturer of law. Having received degrees in law and human rights, Dr McDermott specialises in the area of family law. His publications have been featured in many national and international journals and he regularly speaks on family law and international law matters.

Gregory Kennedy, Corporate Lawyer & Author

After graduating from Georgetown University Law School, Gregory practiced corporate and securities law at the international firms of Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in the Silicon Valley. During his tenure at those firms, he represented clients in all aspects of their business, from the start-up phase through venture capital financing and on to becoming and operating as a public company. After leaving law firm practice, Gregory became the General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Business Development at an international, publicly traded software company which acquired, developed and grew subsidiaries in many locations throughout the United States and in foreign countries. Gregory has written on starting a new business and many aspects thereof, including writing a business plan, financing a business, and protecting and exploiting intellectual property.


Thomas O’Donoghue, Business Operations & IT, Academic & Company Director

Thomas holds three MSc degrees from leading Irish universities and educational institutes in the areas of business and information technology. In addition to being a successful entrepreneur, Thomas has more than 12 years’ experience of software development and of building world class information technology teams, particularly for start-up technology companies. He also has noted expertise in the areas of internet marketing and product development; and regularly speaks on these and other related topics.


Déaglán Campbell, Creative Director & Graphic Designer

Déaglán is Enodare’s creative director, he plays a major role in the strategic and creative development of each design project. Specialising in strategy, user experience and design for interactive projects, Déaglán is Enodare’s creative powerhouse, taking clients’ ideas and turning them into reality. He’s passionate about design, planning and making the most out of technology. Déaglán aims to exceed client expectations every time, creating exciting and original designs.
